The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai – under its Centre for Criminology and Justice, School of Social Work – has published an official notification for its field action project, TANDA. TANDA is launching a Youth Development Programme aimed specifically at youth from Nomadic and De-Notified Tribes (NT-DNT) in the Amaravati district of Maharashtra.
The institute is inviting applications for 01 post of Fellow – Field Worker. This is a highly specialized, grassroots-level role designed to foster leadership and constitutional literacy among NT-DNT communities. TISS TANDA Fellow Recruitment 2026: Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 20 Years.
- Maximum Age: 35 Years.

Role and Responsibilities
The selected Fellow will receive rigorous training in constitutional literacy, rights-based frameworks, health, campaigns, and legal redress mechanisms. Post-training, they will be deployed to work for the betterment of NT-DNT communities across 5 selected villages in the Amaravati district for a period of 2 years, aiming to establish community-led organizations (CLOs).
Mode of Selection Process
The selection process for the TISS Fellow position will consist of:
- Application Screening: Shortlisting of candidates based exclusively on their NT/DNT status, graduation, Amaravati residency, and 2-3 years of grassroots experience.
- Written Test / Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Written Test and/or Interview (which may be conducted offline or online) by the month of October 2026.
- Joining: The selected candidate has to join within 10 days of intimation of selection.
