ITBPF Recruitment 2026: Age Limit as on 27/10/2026

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years.
  • Maximum Age: 25 Years.
  • Note: Candidates should not have been born earlier than 28/10/2001 and later than 27/10/2008.
  • Age Relaxation Extra as per ITBPF Recruitment Rules: SC candidates get a 5-year relaxation, OBC (NCL) candidates get a 3-year relaxation, and Ex-Servicemen / Government Servants get relaxation as per Central Govt rules.

Physical Standard Test (PST) (For Male Candidates Only): • Height: 170 Cms. (Relaxation to 165 cm for Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, etc., and 162.5 cm for ST/North-Eastern Candidates). • Chest: Un-expanded 80 Cms, Expanded 85 Cms. (Relaxation to 78-83 cm and 77-82 cm for specific reserved categories as per the notification). • Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.

Mode of Selection Process

The selection process for the ITBP Head Constable (Motor Mechanic) post consists of multiple stringent phases. The chronological stages are:

  • Phase I – Physical Efficiency Test (PET): A qualifying physical race and jumping test. (Not applicable for Ex-Servicemen).
    • 1.6 Kms Race in 7.30 minutes.
    • Long Jump 11 Feet (3 chances).
    • High Jump 3.5 Feet (3 chances).
  • Phase I – Physical Standard Test (PST): Measurement of Height, Chest, and Weight for those who qualify the PET.
  • Phase II – Verification of Original Documents: Checking of educational, age, ITI/Diploma, experience, category, and domicile certificates.
  • Phase II – Written Examination (100 Marks): Objective type multiple-choice questions (OMR or CBT based) for candidates who qualify Phase I and documentation.
  • Phase III – Practical (Skill) Test (50 Marks): Assessment of vehicle inspection, fault identification, defect rectification, and tool handling. Minimum qualifying marks is 50%.
  • Phase IV – Detailed Medical Examination (DME): Final assessment of physical and mental fitness, including vision tests (6/6 and 6/9) and colour blindness checks.

ITBPF Head Constable (Motor Mechanic) Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2026

(Note: The written examination will carry 100 marks and consist of objective-type Multiple Choice Questions. The minimum qualifying marks are 35% for Gen/EWS/Ex-SM and 33% for SC/OBC. The standard of the paper will be 12th class).
